Before Your Ride
Because this trip is short and sweet, it fits easily into the rest of your day. Wander the wooden boardwalks, browse the shops, or stop into one of the town’s saloons.
If you have time, eat at one of Virginia City’s restaurants before making your way to the depot.
While on the Train
Look around as you roll through the heart of the Comstock, passing remnants of old mines, rail ties, and weathered trestles. You’ll be riding a section of the original track that helped put Nevada on the map, including the famous Gold Hill Depot.
After Your Ride
Once you arrive back in Virginia City, tour the storied museums, dig into mining history, or join a ghost walk if you’re feeling brave. There’s a lot to do here, so you might want more than a day. Check out the town’s lodging options, such as bed and breakfasts, an RV park, and hotels.
